Comments(1) Then What? Some Answers to Startup Weekend Questions

Thanks to everyone that has signed up.
A couple questions come up when I tell people about this. I have added a FAQ page that I will update, but here is a quick answer to a few good questions:
Who will own it?
Everybody who participates will get founders stock, and as it is set up, everyone that shows up and participates gets an equal share.
How do you make decisions?
Vote. Majority wins (we only have the weekend).
Who is behind it?
Local entrepreneurs, designers, coders, hackers, and other good people.
How do I explain it to friends?
Hackathon meets BarCamp? BarCamp with an exit plan? Something really fun to do one weekend? It is up to you, just make sure to sign up.
What are you making?
On Friday night we will get together and hear 3 pitches of ideas that were narrowed down on this blog. We don’t know yet! E-mail at info@startupweekend.com us if you have any killer ideas you want to see be built in a weekend.
When is it over?
Sunday we will freeze the project and be done with it. Someone might want to continue with the project, but as a participant you should plan and expect a Sunday night completion date.
What happens after the weekend?
Anybody who wants to “run with this startup” can negotiate to take management stock with the founders from the weekend

Mark your calendars, startup weekend will be July 6-8 2007 in Boulder, Colorado.
Here is the idea:
Create a startup in a weekend.
Simple eh? Let’s go.
Oh, you want more details?
In the Boulder/Denver mini Valley there is a sizable chunk of humble talent. Let’s get together, pick and idea and launch a startup around the idea in a weekend. Discussion for the idea will take place on this blog, the top 3 ideas will be pitched on Friday night. Saturday morning (midnight + 1 or 8am?) we will split into teams, and go. Developers, designers, hell we even have a massage therapist coming to pitch in.
Ok, cool, how do I sign up?
Head on over to our startup weekend registration page, and get yourself a ticket.
